Board of Education

Santa Cruz City Schools is governed by a seven-member Board of Education. Meetings are held twice each month on Wednesdays; locations rotate between school sites and the district office.

Goals and Objectives

Annually, the district and the Board of Education jointly develop goals and objectives that guide their decisions regarding policy, programs and budget allocations.

2007/8 Goals and Objectives

Create a learning environment that challenges students to achieve their highest potential.

• Develop policies that address site equity (K-5, 6-8, 9-12) to achieve equal access to programs and opportunity.
• Develop a serious program for career and technical education as a means of increasing achievement of students who don't necessarily see college as a goal.
• Develop strategies to attract, retain and develop high-achieving students.
