We Welcome Your Family to Santa Cruz City Schools!


Please Note: To be eligible for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) enrollment, your child must be turning five years old from September 2nd through December 2nd.
To be eligible for Kindergarten enrollment your child must be five years old on or before September 1 of the year in which the student enters kindergarten. California Kindergarten Eligibility Requirements

Please follow the following steps for registration: 

Step 1.
 Determine your neighborhood school. Click here to find your School of Residence

Step 2. Click here to register online, then bring the following documents to the school site front office: 

  • Copy of Immunization Records Immunizations for School Requirements
  • Verification of Age (birth record, birth certificate, baptism certificate, passport or affidavit of the parent, guardian or custodian of the minor)
  • Proof of Residence (PG&E or water bill)
You may upload your documents in the registration process, but must still show them in person to the front office staff.

Please complete the online registration process in its entirety, including creating your parent portal at the end.  All parents must have a parent portal.

Parents of existing students were sent an email on or after July 28th with instructions to create their parent portal and an individual access code.  If you did not receive the email, please check your spam folder.  If the email is not there, please contact your school site for your activation code and use this link to register: Parent Portal Link

Once the link is clicked:
  • You will be asked to log in to Campus Parent

  • Click New User

  • Enter the activation key provided in the email you received (or from the school, if you called or emailed to receive your key)

  • You will be asked to create a user name and password (please remember these credentials)

  • On the next screen you will be asked to enter your email address (twice) and to enter the password you just created.  This is a security step to ensure you can retrieve your password if you forget it. Click Save after completing this screen.

  • You will be asked to log back in and can then proceed with your online registration forms.

  • Make sure to bookmark the parent portal login link so you can use it throughout the year to stay up to date on your student's progress.  You can also download the Campus Parent App in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store

Please create your portal account as soon as possible to complete your forms prior to August 10th.

Attending a school other than your school of residence


We offer the opportunity for students to attend a school outside of their neighborhood's attendance boundary.

For Intradistrict in the 2022-23 school year, the priority filing period for Middle and High Schools is January 13 through February 8, 2022. Applications will be available January 13th, 2022. Please download the application, complete and return to the District Office of Santa Cruz City Schools, 133 Mission St., Santa Cruz, CA 95060, Fax: 429-3450 or via email to mluna@sccs.net by 4:30 pm on February 8th (secondary). In the Elementary District, applications will be accepted from February 18th, 2022 to March 8th, 2022. Please download the application, complete and and return it to your school of residence.

Intradistrict Transfers
Students living within Santa Cruz City Schools District that wish to apply for a transfer to a school other than the school of their residence, must apply for an Intradistrict Transfer. Intradistrict Transfers will be granted if space within the school requested exists for a new student. Please use the link below to complete the application:

Interdistrict Transfers
Students living within Santa Cruz City Schools District and wish to attend a school outside the district must complete an Interdistrict Transfer from Santa Cruz City Schools. Please use the link below to complete the application:

Students living outside Santa Cruz City Schools District that wish to attend a school within Santa Cruz City Schools must initiate an Interdistrict Transfer request at the school district of their residence.
