HOW YOU CAN HELP
COMO PUEDES AYUDAR

August 20, 2020

Dear Santa Cruz City Schools Families,

The current wildfires continue to have a devastating impact on our community. Families and staff have lost homes, and thousands of people will continue to be evacuated in the coming days. Based on the most recent update from the Office of Emergency Services we will have far more staff impacted. Because we have more staff displaced and evacuated than we have substitutes, school will be suspended until August 31st or later. We will reopen based on the ability to safely resume at that time.

Please use email to communicate as school offices will be closed during this time. School office phones will be checked for messages throughout the school day. If you need immediate assistance, please call the central office at 429-3410.

Food Service will still be available from 11am to 12:30pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Multiple meals will be provided each of these days at the following locations:

Gault Elementary

DeLaveaga Elementary

Harbor High School

Soquel High School

Neary Lagoon

Sycamore Commons

Beach Flats

The Tannery

This is heartbreaking news for everyone. It is with a heavy heart and with the safety and well-being of our district community in mind that I write this message. Our school community is here to support our families and students.  Please reach out if we can support you in any way.

Please watch your email and texts for updates and information.

Stay safe and well.

Best regards,

Kris
